Tzalmon

Walking distance to Nahal Tzalmon Travertine Bridge

Lower Nahal Tzalmon - After years of being completely dry, in autumn 2025 the lower section of Nahal Tzalmon came back to life! Thanks to the flow of desalinated water into the Sea of Galilee as part of the "Reverse Carrier" project, clear water now flows along the stream, filling several wonderful pools. The most beautiful and deepest pool of all is located beneath an ancient bridge, known as the "Travertine Bridge". In days gone by, an ancient aqueduct crossed the bridge, carrying the stream's water to a flour mill. Water seeping from the aqueduct created beautiful stalactites on the bridge, giving it a unique appearance. The combination of the beautiful bridge, the clear and deep pool beneath it, and the sound of water flowing powerfully, creates a wonderful place to bathe in. Those who wish can add 2 more nearby pools to their visit — the Round Pool and the Waterfall Pool.

Nahal Amud

The Column

Lower Nahal Amud is one of the wildest and most impressive trails in the Lower Galilee. It is a one-way trail passing through a deep and spectacular stream channel, alongside high cliffs, prehistoric caves, archaeological remains, and small springs. Along the way you will also encounter the famous "Amud" — a giant limestone rock pillar that gave the stream its name. The trail is unregulated, free of charge, and is especially suitable for transitional seasons — winter and spring.
